We are very glad to have received the nomination from Dear Kitty. Some blog. It comes as a real surprise! We are more than happy to respond to the 7 questions asked.
Where do most visits to your blog come from?
Most of the visits come from the West, i.e. Europe and America. We have visits from the Netherlands, the United States of America, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and so on. Interestingly, we also have visits from the East, like Hong Kong, India, Taiwan, Japan and so on. We are about to achieve global outreach for our language project Operation X!
What is your favourite sport?
I like doing different types of sports. I especially like walking a lot (with a speed which is akin to jogging).
What has been a special moment for you so far in 2018?
A special moment is that our language project Operation X has received a lot of media attention in the Netherlands. People are becoming more aware of our effort to preserve and promote Frisian languages in the Netherlands. And there is more to come!
What is your favourite quote?
My favourite (Frisian) quote is “de tiid hâldt gjin skoft”. It means literally that time does not take pause (time goes quickly). The quote reflects clearly my attitude towards the Frisian languages: It is a race against time to save them or else they
What was your favourite class when still at school?
School was not really my thing! Haha.
Anything you had wished to have learned earlier?
I had wished that I had learned of the dire situation which minority languages in the world have been facing much earlier. To have started earlier would have contributed much to the ongoing effort to preserve and promote minority languages.
What musical instrument have you tried to play?
I have tried playing violin and piano before. I have left them behind for a while, and want to brush up these skills sooner or later.
We can only express our gratefulness for the nomination by saying it once again: Thank you Dear Kitty. Some blog for the Real Neat Blog Award. It is such an honour to be recognised! Click here to see our nomination.
